Re: ls turbo or ls/vtec (jdm015)
go to the forced induction section and read the 200+ pages of LS or "LS+T"... or whatever it is... this applies to turbo LS motors. or search Honda-Tech for LS VTEC posts. good info on each

Re: ls turbo or ls/vtec (Simple)
^^unfotunately, hardly anyone in this forum is willing to read. Start here and read >> https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1024174
If all your friends have is a turbo and intercooler, you need many more parts to make a reliable turbo set-up. This could be a 1500 page thread or a 5 post thread...depends on if you read or everybody just states and restates what they think you should do.

I think you need to take a step back and think this out. Your descriptions of what you want are very vague and don't really help us to help you.
Can you at least address how much money you have to spend... realistically, not a pipe dream amount.

Re: (jdm015)
unless you can come up with more money stick with the LS turbo.
LS/VTEC's are great, I love mine and she's been a great engine for over 2 years. However you can't just half-*** assemble an LS/VTEC and go with it.
If you do it's not going to last.
Being that you already have a turbo and FMIC you will be able to assemble a descent used set up for a grand. You will have to search around for parts and get a great deal.
Then spend your last 500 bucks on a tune. The tune is super important. I dont care if you have a $500 junk yard turbo kit or a $8,000 Fullrace turbo kit. If she isn't tuned she isn't going to be fast nor is she going to be reliable.
I recomend you spend alot more time searching. Injectors, turbo manifold, fuel pump, wastegate, engine/fuel managment, blow off valve, wastegate, down pipe, boost controller, oil feed and return lines, fittings, couplers, t-bolt clamps and tuning are all expensive.
Don't half *** it and end up with a half completed project that you have to sell for pennys on the dollar

ebay, homemadeturbo.com classifieds and classifieds here on H-T.
There are also ramhorns/mini ram horns that are AC compatable but are way more expensive.
stick with brand name manifolds like drag, greddy, inline pro. Avoid any SS autocrome or XS power. Basicly post it on here if you have any questions on it's quality.

hondata is great but I think for the price nepTune and eCtune are just as good for most street applications and mild race applications. It is also cheaper.
I recomend you talk to the person that will be tuning your car to see what they recomend. It's best to stick with what they prefer/are best with.

you can tap into the block by putting a T where the oil pressure solenoid screws into the back of the block. Personally I do not like this because cheaper T-s snap easily and this can cause major problems and a mess.
I prefer an oil filter pancake.
