LS surging after swap

How come my ls is surging from 1500 to 2000

Probably just a vaccum leak. After I popped my head gasket, I started surging between 1k and 1.5k.

maybe air in the coolant...that will cause idle surging...but you didnt say anything about over heating my experience was air in the coolant causing surging AND overheating....but make sure you bleed your coolant and check your iacv/fitv, clean the iacv out real good do a search on iacv/fitv fixes if you dont follow me....theres a alot of posts about it hope this helps
