Default LS Redline?

What would be a good but safe redline for a Stock 98 LS?

i would say stock...... redline......a stock ls motor isn't gonna make anymore power after redline unless you've got cams that make power past it...

it depends on what you're wanting to use your rpms for. If you're looking to auto-x, and you're using a LS tranny, you shouldn't have to raise your rev-limit because 2nd will take you almost to 60mph.

stock LS valvetrain will only take so much, and valves will begin to float around 7700, and pistons tend to remove themselves from the crankshaft around 8300.

So, keep it stock, keep it real. And build up your bottom end .
