Default ls pistons in a jdm type r block????

my friend just got a jdm type r motor....we put it in ........and it had a blown headgasket.....wewent to replace it, but when it removed the head the pistons said pr-4...ls pistons???wtf? well no i kind of think it is a jdm gsr.why would they put those flat ls pistons in there???the cams in it look bigger than stock itr, or ctr!!!turbo bottom, with na top??it makes no sense, we checked for head and block warpage and they were both perfect. it still is burning oil, and it looks like is leaking oil from the new head gasket. the motor was just rebuilt before he got it, cause i could tell the cylinders were just rehoned. has anyone heard of this before....we are so confused....but the car bones out like a champion.it really rips.we did everything right, but it still is losing oil. any help????

i think you got ripped man, the car probably does pull hard cuz you're used to a single cam car or whatever, it would pull alot harder if you had the right pistons in there. who rebuilt it, they might have taken your itr pistons and put the pr4 pistons in it. are you sure the rings are seated ok, also why would you blow a head gasket when the motor was just rebuilt?
good luck

What the hell did you just say?

What do you drive that entitles you to say such ignorant remarks?

I'm building a SOHC. I'm 24 and I'm building a SOHC non-VTEC motor - what do you have to say about that?

I can't wait for this one...round one!

DING! DING!

...but he's been here for 199 days. Either he reads a lot and doesn't post, or he just pops in on rare occasion to spout off useless BS.

Makes sence to me. Type R block with LS slugs would make a nice motor for boost.

Your original post still sounds retarded, and your second attempt at creating complere thoughts in type wasn't too good either.

I don't care if you hang out with them. Your post equates SOHC motors with a 17 year old kid that is waiting to"upgrade" so again my original post stands.

so back to the thread..........i have no clue..we can not figure it out. i think the valve seals are gone. but we know the motor was just rebuilt. the doctor will be putting ctr pistons in it pretty soon, so i guess we got a bunk motor!!!!but it still bones out!
