Bare with me... I am pretty new to the scene....

I can buy an ls engine right now for 3 bills. I heard thats a very good deal since they run for more like 4 or higher. I need to know wat else i need and how much it could possibly cost me since i eventually wanna go ls/vtec. tranny, do i need motor mounts???, etc.... i would welcome ne of ur good knowledge..

youd need: most of the things a civic si has (ie. mounts, shift linkage, A/C mount if you want, pr3 head for lsvtec, axles) theres many things ive left out so if you see what im missing, chime in

How much you think I would need to spend total to get my ls/vtec going??? cuz i heard the v-tec is a grip.... I prolly will have just a plain ls in for a while while i save up for v-tec. wat cars u think i could be flexing on wit just an LS??? do u guys know wat wat times you think i could possibly be puttin out on the track if i get it all done??? ( full interior, a/c) Thanx alot for ne feedback....

I saw a guy at the races with a ls in a ek and just had intake and exhaust and he was running low 14s.

As far as ls/vtec

b16 or gsr head complete
golden eagle kit ls/vtec comes with dowel pins, head gasket, oil line, and oil line tap for the gsr or b16 head.

ARP rods bolts can be used and head studs, head studs for sure dont use the stock ones again

you can use stock ls injectors on any of them heads make sure they are the same odb model as the car.

you can put a wide variety of pistons in the ls/vtec

i suggest getting a head that is bare and ported and polished so you can build it yourself or you can get a complete one and send it away to get done.

With low miles a ls/vtec will run great for a long while. i built one a year ago and it is a stock bottom end and it is still taken to 9000 everyday by the kid that i sold it to.

they are pretty easy I found just read and if any other ? just ask

Thanx for all the info guys. Do u guys have ne idea how much i would be spending on all the parts total??? and are there ne good azz places online (or if ur in the bay-shops) where i could search around for these parts??? i know the typical ones are prostreetonline, jhpusa, craigslist. are there ne other good ones???
on another note- just wondering??? wat is a poor mans swap??? is it a B16 wit gsr bottom or somthin else.
