LS ECU in Manual DX car throwing Code 19
My buddy gave me this ls ecu, and told me to give it a try. So i popped it in fired up the car, to get a code 19. This is tell me that i am getting....
(19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve )
Now the car preforms pretty good, seems like this code isn't doing anything. But thus if the check engine light is on, the car should, or is in limp mode.
Is there a possiblity to convert the auto ecu to manual. Also shouldn't the ecu be acting kind of funny on a manual car.

yes you can convert the ecu from auto to manual... but there is no damn point to be putting an ls ecu in your dx car..trust me i ran one for a month and lost power even when i put the stock ecu in ..... just because you have an intake and exhaust or whatever you have there is no reason you need to be running as rich as the ls ecu will make u.. give it back and put the stock dx back in

okay so how can i convert it from auto to manual. yes i know the ls ecu will make the dx run really rich. thus i don't mind i just was testing the ecu out etc... but how do you convert it to auto to manual. so thus it will not throw the 19 code.

if ur just testing the ecu out i wouldnt mess with converting it from auto to manual.. but if u want to really do it then be my guest....
go to http://www.pgmfi.org and go to the library.. it will tell u there how to do it.. but its seriously a waste of ur time to do it and if u dont have any soldering skills forget about it...
just put ur dx ecu in and use that...if you want to run richer and have the higer redline just use the p28 ex computer.. atlest its meant for a single cam the timing would be right and stuff..
but u can really screw ur motor up using a ls ecu.. its meant for a twin cam 1.8 not a single cam 1.5 big difference.... timing and fuel maps are completly different
but good luck
