ls auto or 5 speed engine?
is it stupid to get an LS motor from an automatic or is it better to get one from a 5 speed with the tranny? auto's are usually not driven so hard and are usually cheaper right?! i would have to buy flywheel but what else?

Excellent logic. And if my old auto accord was any indication, autos are abused far, far more than manuals.

This shouldn't even be an issue. Stay away from automatic engines/trannies altogether and the world will be a happy, happy place where the car is driven by the driver, not the automatic ECU.

i wasn'planning on keeping the damn auto tranny!, i was planning on getting gsr tranny to put on it, i can get the motor for $550 CDN......that is why i asked the question.........also i wasn't aware of the weaker cams, aren't they the same motor....when you buy aftermarket cams you don't specify whether it's an auto or stick just B18B, is that not right?!

Ls auto cams and 5spd cams are all the same. There is no difference. If you just need the engine and you can get it cheap because its from an auto, then do it. I used a auto ls in my 5spd hatch and it was strong.
