You just need an allen wrench. Clockwise to lower, counter clockwise to raise.

How would you lower it with an allen wrench? I thought you would need that a tool something like this.

turn the collar counter clock wise. You dont need a special tool. Just grab it with your hand and twist, and if it is stuck. Grab a flat blade screw driver and a hammer, put the screw driver in the slot and give it a few shots with the hammer to break it free. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest this job is a 1

Yeah I have used a crowbar before. I usually put a towel or cloth over the end of whatever I'm using in the slot so I don't cosmetically damage the collar.

No need for an allen tool? I thought I saw Ground Control coilovers that have an allen nut to tigthen the collar? Could I use WD-40 to loosen the collar??

yes wd40 will help. And a allen is needed. There is a allen screw that keeps the collar tight.

Now I seem to have a dilemma. I spun the collars down to the last 4.5 threads on all four coilovers. I'm running on LS mesh wheels 195/60/15, and to be honest the tires a barely tucking in the rear. The front's are tucked about an inch, but the overall stance of the car doesn't seem low.

I'm running GC coils w/tokico blues, yes I know tokico blues should be lowered more then 1". But I'm just slamming the car for now. Would the height of the sidewall affect lowering of the car? And what about the shocks, could that affect how low the car could go as well?

The car will go as low as you can twist the collar down. Simple as that. Now if you have huge balloon tires, which 195/60's are fairly large, you're going to rub. My suggestion is get some smaller tires and you can go lower without rubbing. I mean you can only go so low before you're sitting on the tires.

my GCs came with alittle allen wrench and a tool kinda like pictured above.... but not really needed. i would NEVER use a screw driver or crowbar! sure it would work but will damage the perches and make them look ugly! previous owner of mine must have tried either a crowbar or just didnt loosen the allen screw enough and scared the perches all up!

luckely they are only 10bucks for new perches so i replaced the two before instaling mine. and with my tool i also wraped it with abunch of electrical tape to prevent it from being scratched up for when i need to use the tool.... i only need the tool to really lift the car with the wheel off the ground... you can also use one of those rubber strap jar openers i tried it for kicks and it works alot easier since you dont have to line up any groves on the perches...
just go buy a set of allen wrenches, standard and millimeter.... they come in more handy then you think if you work on your car and/or stereo....
also PREFERABLY buy the sets that are made together... those ones that you pull out and seperate get lost very easily.LOL ive had to buy several sets because i loose that ONE wrench that i need.LOL

Seems to be a lot of tire let, I plan on going back to 195/50/15. Or just lower it more, cause theres about 4.5 treads left.

ive turned the dial all the way to the last thread. And the car still doesn't seem to go lower? Could it cause of the shocks? I am running Tokico blues, and its not meant to be lowered. But could it still prevent it from lowering my car and lower?

no, you probably have the fronts on the back, especially if you did this yourself seeing you had to ask how to unscrew them and which direction to lower it....which should all have been painfully obvious.........

Actually the coilovers came with the car when I had bought it months ago. Didnt bother to lower the car when I got different wheels.

How could you tell if the setup was reversed? Front in the back and vice versa?

Your right! I just measured the springs and the rear spring was put in the front and the front spring was put in the back. I guess the previous owner F'd up.

Now Im frustrated, I was able to put the short springs on the front and the longer springs in the back. Now for some reason the rear end sits higher even though I lowered the collar to the last two treads. The front end turned out perfectly fine, its really slammed since I did lower the collar to the last 2 treads as well.

Im just confused about why the rear end is not lowered, though the collar is turned all the way down???

Look closely at the rear shocks, there is like a small sleeve that prevents the coils to go all the way down.....thats why.....I guess thats why....nos sure dah

I didn't understand your statement? The coils look just the same as the rest of the others. Small coil?

Now I got a new problem, refer to the picture below.

The front end is slammed, but other then that its seated the way I want it. But the rear for some reason will not lower. I've turned the collar all the way down to the last thread. And rear will still not go low!! Setup is GC coilovers w/tokico blues, like I said the front end is perfectly fine. Just the rear is frustrating me, I even disassembled the coilover twice! I have no idea?...I dont wan't have to take it to my mechanic to see what he can do.
