How are intrax springs. I just bought another hatch and the guy wants to sell me some intrax springs for $40. How do they ride.

Unless you get used parts, anticipate on spending $100-$200 for springs, and another $100 or so for installation (if you don't plan on doing it yourself).
You shouldn't need to get shocks if you go with a very small drop (maybe an inch or so). Dropping your car 2 inches on stock shocks is pushing it. You'll end up with the "Bouncing car syndrome" after a while.
Most places won't charge you for installation if you get the shocks and springs done at the same time.
Keep in mind, air tools make the job MUCH easier, especially on an older car.

Tools:your eg friend here, First, get a hold of a spring compressor, And if you can't, rent one from an auto parts store. Then your basic socket set.
For directions in specific, PM or email me..I Don't feel like typing all of it, but i could look for directions, got them somewhere on here...its really easy though

Re: ???Lowering Car???
We all drive hondas here, which happens to be the cheapest car to lower (the right and "wrong" ways).
My friend bought some 100 dollar coil-overs (no name) off ebay for his 98hatch and dialed them all the way down and his car rode fine.
I have cut springs on my old crx and it rode just as good if not better than stock!
The only experience i havent had with lowering a car is heating the springs, i think thats where you get the bouncing part, and if your stock shocks are busted.
BTW: my car is pretty low with nuespeed springs and stock shocks with250k miles and no bouncing here.

Re: ???Lowering Car??? (crexer)
I got my Neuspeed Race springs off www.groupbuycenter.com for $75 but be carefull of cons.
Did the install myself for free!!!!!!
People who spend money on installation for lowering springs make no sense to me. Do it once yourself and you'll see what I mean. Especially, with Hondas.
Why bother getting into this car racket if you don't enjoy working on them???
Don't be a poser..........learn and have fun!!!

Re: ???Lowering Car??? (emendgroove1)
well i really dont want to spend anything but if i have to i will spend nothing over 150.
i don't think your going to like the quality of your ride if you only spend $150 or less. do it right the first time. but you gotta work with what you got

Re: ???Lowering Car??? (nontec)
I would consider springs if I were in your shoes. Instead or purchasing some used stuff you could shop around and see if you can find a deal. You are looking to spend 150 dollars plus or minus a few bucks. Check out INLINEFOUR.COM for some NEW and UN-USED springs from H&R (German Quality) for about 145 dollars. Check it out yourself.

Hope this helps.
