Lower splash air dam dynamics?

Default Lower splash air dam dynamics?

My lower splash gaurd is hanging pretty low, I dont know exactly how its supposed to be. You would assume to be level with the car. The splash gaurd hangs about 1" from the ground, and im worried about aerodynamics-mainly cooling to the oil pan.

Now the lower splash gaurd has a little lip that looks like it diffuses/forces air below the oil pan, can I just take a bungie cord to pull this portion up, so the oil pan is getting the proper flow?

if you dont think its on correctly check and see if you have all the bolts underneath holding it on, if so theres nothing you can do.

however there is a possibility that someone went over an object that was too high, then while backing off of it they bent the piece of plastic down and toward the front of the car... if not dont worry about it.

mine is pretty low but i dont care, it lets me know if i will clear my frame on bumps or wutever.

yea but the oil pan get NO airflow what so ever, im thinking if I cut this "tab" that points down like a diffuser right in front of the oil pan, I could gain some extra cooling, unless its there to disrupt flow.

Im just worried about cooling, since I know that air is extracted from the bottom of the engine bay, and it seems like this is messing it up.

Anybody have any pics/diagrams on how level its supposed to be? I mean when looking in the front of the car, are you supposed to see any part of the oil pan, and exhaust manifold? It seems this is causing alot of extra drag, and yea, all the bolts are there, (4 plastic ones, 2 on each side of the wheel well)

pic? i think its normal actually.. mine goes dowwn right before the oil pan.

If you think it sags too much, get a long zip tie and tie it up in there. There should be a place around the middle where you can zip tie it up.

Looks? They're not even supposed to be visible on the car usually.

I guess ill zip it, but-how do I know whats sagging and whats not? i have no reference to compare it to, and since it has to do with cooling the oil pan and radiator, I think you need a specific angle.

Where it looks like it's sagging in the middle... put a ziptie there. It doesn't have to be a perfect angle. The wind would move it around anyway. Zip tying it's just to keep it from hitting stuff on the road and such.

I doubt it has so much to do with cooling anything as it has to mildly protect things and keep the bay clean (try removing those wheel splash guards and tell me how nasty it gets in the engine bay and in the fenders and front doors).
