Is the lower Fuel Filter bolt reverse threaded?
I was trying to do something simple, change my fuel filter. I have done this times before on different vehicles, yet on my civic the lower part of the fuel filter is on tight as ****. I got the top banjo bolt off, no problem but the lower on is on too tight. Is there some kinda trick or did someone simply tighten it WAY too much? I know lame question, BTW my turbo is on and even though I still have the stock clutch, flywheel, no boost controller or BOV it runs very strong.

I dont remember that being reverse threaded, but I remember removing mine with a lot of accidental bending of the fuel filter bracket.
yeah that bolt can be a PITA
try locking a big C-clamp over the fuel filter for better leverage, I think thats what I did.

At least it's not just me, heh. I'll try again, might have a clamp in the garage.

just make sure you use a flared wrench instead of a regular wrench. and no it's not reverse threaded. The torque specs is 27 lb-ft according to the helms manual. A easy trick to get that lower nut off is before you take that banjo nut off I recomend you break the torque off the lower nut first then the banjo nut then finally loosen the mounting bracket. That way you don't end up trying to get a solid grip and trying to break the torque off the lower nut at the same time. hope that helps.

You can get a grip on the lower portion of the fuel filter itself with an open-end wrench and use that for leverage while loosening the nut. I believe a 17mm fits the filter but I don't recall exactly -- I used a pair of those Craftsman Handy-Grip deals...
