Lower Ball Joint!!!!!!! help plz
Omg these lower ball joint are a pain in the *** I tell ya. Was changing an axle on a 1995 civic hatchback today and everything was about to be done. So then I try to tighten the lower ball joint nut and it was stripped/mushroom! I seriously don't know what else there is to do. I was thinking of rethreading it, but can't figure out the size? Is it 12x1.25? If so where can I get that at locally? Thanks.

1/2" impact or replace the ball joint.
Just did my db8's axles today. book time is 45 minutes sucka. Did it in 30 minutes.
Good luck with that. Ball joints suck that is why I bought that special tool. No more stripped threads.
Bump for you.

Replace the ball joint, its going to have to be replaced eventually anyways. Mine was like that where the bolt was stripped. I put it back in some how but it popped as soon as i went on curves and stuff. I put a new one in and no more problems anymore.

Re: (Hyaboosta)
first of all , never beat on the bolt to pop the joint. just take the nut off , hit the thick spot on the LCA next to the balljoint hole firmly over and over with a 2 lb maul. it will pop. if your replacing the balljoint , which you should , first thing is take the axle nut off while car is still on ground. than pop the tie rod first same way. next , undo the upper balljoint same way. than you have the spindle in your hand. using flat screwdriver , carefully pry the dust ring out of its hole on back side of spindle. than you need snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring. than turn it upside down and beat the balljoint out. clean hole , beat new balljoint in carefully , using big hammer and a socket that only covers the outside of the back of balljoint. once all the way in , reinstall snap ring and everything else in reverse order.
