low oil pressure!!?? HELP!!
I recently changed my oil pan, and after about 25 minutes of driving (easy driving, didn't even rev past 3k) my oil light comes on when at idle.
-oil is good, right below the second hole on the dip stock
-pan is not dented
-pickup is clean and not dented
-oil pressure gauge (mechanical) shows no/little pressure at idle
could it be a coincedence that my pump went bad 25 minutes after i changed my pan?
Can anyone suggest what i can check or what the problem could be!! i'm getting desperate!!

i was sorta thinking that's what it could be, but it's just sorta wierd how it happened right after i changed the oil pan. i haven't started my car after that except for 5 seconds to test the pressure with the gauge.

Did you have the oil pick-up off of it when the oil pan was off?

Check your sump screen, make sure it's clean, i'd assume you've been changing your oil filter after every oil change or atleast every other.

i only took the oil pick-up off when i started having problems because i thought it may be plugged or something - which it wasn't.

i checked the pick-up screen. it's clean - nothing is on it. oil filter was changed about 200 miles ago.
Is this problem pointing to a faulty oil pump??? or something else that I can check??

Did you replace the gasket on it? Was the oil pressure a preexisting problem?

i never replaced the gasket, but the inside of the gasket was clean and oil free (seemed like it sealed ok). i never took off the oil pick up before i had this problem, so the gasket should be ok. This is a new problem, never had an problems like this before.
