low idle when cold at startup
i dont really knwo if it means anything or not, but when i start my car the car starts and sits right around 1k for about 10 seconds then goes up to liek 2.5k-3k like normal. It just started doing it recently and i dont know if it is a sign of a bigger problem or not. btw 96 ls motor, obd1, p75. anyone have any thoughts?

2.5k - 3k is not a normal idle RPM ,...750 RPMs is normal,..you have a 96LS motor,..which is a OBD2 motor,..but you listed obd1,..did you convert this? if so i know your problem,..are you throwing a code?

did you mess with the cooling lately?
check the iac (clean it w/ carb cleaner)
play with the tps (this is probably it 'cause youre at 2.5k at idle (DAMN!))

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
well i dont know if it is exactly 3 i was jsut guessing but whatever normal is i guess 2k is what it is usually at. yea converted to obd1, but i have had a check engine light from not having and o2 sensor for a while, so ill check that when i get back from school. and i havent messed with any coolant. i dont think that the vacuum is broken tho.

ok so obd1 conversion
you just removed the 2ndary o2? put it back in to seal the hole
unplug the evap connector (behind that plastic gaurd over the injectors) it will make you idle better
turn your idle adjust screw after that to get it around 750-800
