Low idle help, 2000 civic hb
Hello, i have a 2000 civic hb with gsr swap. I'm having low idles at stop lights or stop signs if I let me civic hb sit for at least 10-30secs, it idles around 1k then goes down to 500-700 at stops and sometimes sputters but does not die. I did the following, clean iavc, cleaned throttle body, changed fuel filter, cleaned PVC valve, change spark plugs, and Replace knock sensor. There are no cel on the car. I don't think it is a vaccum leak, or it will have a higher idle. Any suggestions? I also tried the finger trick by plugging the whole in the throttle body and it dies, it only has one hole because it has a skunk2 Im, it came with it

Re: Low idle help, 2000 civic hb
I'm pretty sure it does not have a fast idle valve. I'm thinking about taking my car for a radiator flush, but I'm not to sure, so far I let my car run with my radiator cap off to let out the bubbles and I topped it off with more coolant. Also does the bubbles in the radiator cause idle to roam or cause it to decrease anyone knows? But I know that it cause idling

Yes, when the bubbles hit sensors it can throw off idle. That's why I suggested it first. When you drive, the coolant flows faster through everything, meaning air bubbles in coolant disperse and rush through too fast for detection. When you stop the car and idle it, eventually the air makes it's way around and the physics of cohesion do their thing, causeing many small, dispersed bubbles to join and form large pockets of air.

Re: Low idle help, 2000 civic hb
Hey guys, today I tried to get the bubble out of my coolant by letting my car run hot with the radiator cap off and topping it off with more coolant and it idle even worse like sputtering at stops. Later I took my civic for a coolant flush at oil stop, the idle seems better, but now when I drive my civic, it feels like its not getting enough something??? When I shift gears and drive ex. 2nd gear, it feels like it does not grip on or something and when I press the gas pedal it does not accelerate until I let off the gas then press it again, the only thing I did was the coolant any thoughts?

The thing is, it had never done it before and no there are no cel on, and I don't know about adjusting the throttle cable, I thought about it sometimes, but read that only mechanics should do it?

Maybe all this is better handled by a mechanic. It wouldn't cost more than 5 minutes to adjust a cable. Don't let them fool you into a new throttle body.
