Low idle...
Wussup all... I need a lil help. My engine light came on last week, so I unplugged the battery to reset the ECU. Now my engine idles almost to the point where it's gonna shut off and the check engine light came back on. My car runs good... it doesn't show signs of the o2 sensor going bad. I don't have the money for a diagnostic right now so if someone can give me some idea as to what is wrong that would be great.
Thanks

Re: Low idle... (4doorLX)
I have the same problem with my car. It started to idle low after I put the header on, and then got worse after I put the ignition on. It never dies, and no dummy lights come on or anything, but sometimes the tach is almost sitting on zero. I'm going to get it put on the computer when I get back from spring break. I'll let you know what happens....maybe it is the same problem??????

Re: Low idle... (4doorLX)
I have an Hx and when I put my headers on the Idle lowered too but nothing serious I guess It went from 700 rpms to like 550 or 600 but it still idles goods, and runs good. I only used one of the o2 sensors because the header only had one whole so I used the O2sensor with the most wires. The otherone is just unplugged.
Could having that sensor unplugged cause any problems??? Also little green stock shiftlight stopped working after I put the header. The bulb is good cuz it turns on when i turn the key, it just doesn't work when the car is running.
Thanks

Re: Low idle... (Boost Pressure)
I would imagine it has something to do with the O2 sensor that is connected to the header. You might want to check that, but make sure you check to see what Code it is throwing first.

I have the a similar problem in my shitty engine... CX. But I kinda know what the problem is.. I think, since my engine is majorly burning oil.. I am guessing the piston ring is gone, so the piston may have problem running in low RPM given the unwanted friction.. after I put engine treatment into it, it seems to be doing a bit better, you may wanna try engine treatment, since it's cheap to do, and it doesnt hurt.

Get that "good" engine treatment that has the "pills" you drop in the cylinders. The package says that it replaces the metal on worn parts. hehehe
