Default low-fuel warning light not working

i'm at 280 miles since a full tank on my 00 SI and the low-fuel warning light is not on. It's been at the empty line for over 30 miles, and the light still hasn't been showing. anyone know how to fix it? the easy fix would be just to fill-up the tank again, but i'm trying to figure out which driving style will get me the most mpg before a warning light comes on. i'm afraid i'm going to end up stranded somewhere while doing this test, unless my tank is playing tricks on me. all my other warning lights are working except this one, so...anyone know what it could be?

There is information from Honda stating that if the low fuel light quits working, the most likely cause is the fuel gauge sending unit. The Honda part number for this sending unit is 37800-S02-C12. The sending unit is accessed from under the rear seat.

mine does not work either..... but Im not about to spend big $ on a sender just to get it working again cause the gauge itself still works fine!.

I agree that it would be nice to have the light, but it's certainly NOT the end of the world since your gauge itself is still workin fine.

To the OP........ 92-95 civics DONT have a low fuel light. 96-00 civics DO have a low fuel light.

my honda crv 1998 low fuel light dose not work anymore but the gauge still works fine. In my car the sending unit and pump are only sold together as an assembly. Having a hard time in my country finding an assembly for this model car. What should i do ?
