Low compression in one cylinder - need advice
After the poor emissions ratings from Colorado air care, I decided to run a compression test on my engine. The results are as follows:
cylinder 1: 175 PSI
cylinder 2:185 PSI
cylinder 3:110 PSI
cylinder 4:180 PSI
After adding a teaspoon of oil the cylinder three, the pressure rose to 120 PSI. This is a test car where I'm trying to achieve very high fuel economy numbers. I would appreciate your comments on whether the engine should be repaired, replaced, and the effect on fuel economy.
