low compression

Default low compression

heys i have a 92 eg hatch with gsr swap i check compression and all 4 cylynders have from 80-100 psi any possible causes why all four have low compression at once

Could be the engine is tired. Did you do this at WOT with the engine warm and all the plugs out? That will yeild higher numbers, although, still probably not over the min of 135.

Do a retest, and after getting a low number, put some oil into that cyl and test again. If the numbers go up, your rings are fried.

yep WOT all plugs out 75-100 psi i havent done wet compression yet

I wouldn't be so quick on the draw. You may have fuel spilling down the side of the cylinder wall from dirty injectors or too much fuel left over after spark. Change all spark related equipment (dizzy, plugs, rotor, wires, etc) and clean your fuel system (new fuel filter, clean injectors, clean intake, replace air filter). Change your O2 sensor too, you may be burning too rich with excess gas left over. Then you can think about rings. I have the same problem and this is my approach. Good luck. I'm changing one thing at a time until I see an improvement.

interesting dpkelly it actually makes sense after a rich burn ill check that first my car is running real rich
