Loud screeching sound on start up, then car dies......
there is a loud screeching sound on start up, then the car dies, the a/c belt is tight as hell, but the alternator belt is looser than that, do you think that could be the crank not being in sync with the alternator belt? its a minime y7 y8 engine.

tighten the alternator belt ,..see if that fixes your problem,..i dont see how it would make it die though,..well i mean it could because once the car starts,..it runs off the alternator,..because the car only really uses the battery to start up

see thats what i was wondering, lets say the alternator belt tightening kills the screeching sound, what would cause it to idle bad and then die, the IACV or timing?

both the IACV and timing can cause a rough or no idle,...are you throwing a code for the IACV? last time you cleaned it? and are you sure you timing is right,..alot of things can cause bad idle,..like vaccum leaks and **** like that

i am almost certain that the timing is right, i set both the crank and cam gear to tdc before i put the belt on and made sure they were both at tdc settings with the belt on.

Remove both AC and alternator belts try and start the car and see if it maintains idle. Reinstall one at a time while starting car up with each one on seperately. May be a seized up clutchpack/compressor or seized alternator. Is it screeching like bearing metallic whaling or just a belt slip screech. That would cause your car to idle incorrectly and possibly stall due to the added load of the seized component.

Yup.
Yes, as long as your battery is fully charged, you can run it with no alt or A/C belts on it.
