loud noise when breaking

i have a 97 civic hatch. whenever i backup and then drive off there is a loud popping noise from the right front.

im not positive on this,but it kinda sounds like ball joints..

examine your suspension.try wiggling stuff around and if something moves,look into it.

cool ill check that out, but ive also heard that it could be the break caliper.

Brake*

I'm guessing you have a bad bushing somewhere but i could be wrong. Take a look at your bushings. Jack the car up and check for play in the suspension.
