Loud noise from engine.
I just finished my z6 swap and it turned on pretty smooth. After a couple seconds the enigine started revving past 3k rpm and there was this loud screeching noise. I know i gotta get a purge solenoid to replace my broken one but i don't think that's the problem. If the timing belt was too tight would that cause the noise? And is my stock ecu for a '94 lx match up to the z6?

Re: Loud noise from engine. (sol2hatch)
Ok. All my drivebelts seemed like they were tensioned right but i still need to check the timimng belt. Is the P28 the right ecu to get?

i bet ur tb is way to tight. did u properly let the tensioner do the tensioning? did u replace it? could be the tensioner on it's way to takin a ****. general rule of thumb is to replace it with the tb and waterpump. also take a squirt bottle with soap water and spray each accessory pullies. spray away and see if the noise starts or get's worse.
