Default Loud Clunk when stopping

Well guys, Im having more troubles with my car. When I come to a stop now it makes a loud thud/clunk sound from the passenger side of the car. Sometimes it sounds like its coming from the front suspension and sometimes the rear. Any ideas?

Only does it when decellerating fairly quickly, no noise on accelleration, doesnt matter if its in or out of gear when I slow down it does it. Nothing is messed up as far as I can see.

if you go in reverse and apply the brakes, does it happen as well? Might be the pads shifting slightly?

check the bolts that hold the controll arm to the subframe. I had one that was stripped once and it made a sound similar to that. These are the ones I mean.

could it have anything to do with the balljoints? i just replaced my driverside lower balljoint and i dont think its tightened enough because when i come to a quick stop, i get the same noise you describe.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!! I am putting my $ on lower torque mounts. It took me 8 months and alot of $ to find out that problem in my sol (shocks, springs, upper control arms, axles, ahhh). I just happened to see it one day while changing my oil that they are completely trashed. Here is a little DIY I found.

Have you had anything done to your brakes lately? if do like said and check those calipers. Otherwise it sounds like your control arms.

I have the same issue with my CRX, no bolts are stripped or anything. I think that it could be my camber kit movig around. On the drivers side I had to add some rubber bushings to keep it from moving around. I put one in on the pass side but I still need to install another and see if that gets rid of it. Any insight on what else it could be would be great.

what kind of shocks are you using? i've had this sound happen to me and it was one of my tein shocks that got loosended from the top bolt...weird but after i torqued it down the sound went away...try popping your hood and jumping up and down on the front side to see if it's a shock that is loose or dead that is causeing the upper a arm to hit your shock mount.

Same thing here, but I think it may be my camber kit shifting. However, I have never had my brake pads changed and have owned the car for about 1 and 1/2 yrs......

not to jack the thread...
but I get a loud clunk when I bring the wheel back from a full left-turn (both upper and lower ball joints and tie-rod ends have been replaced - left and right sides)

check the rear control arm bolts that bolt on to the fender well, the ones that give camber. mine does the same thing, when i brake and when ever i hit some bumps, got a 2 foot breaker bar and tightened the **** outa it and it still does it, but check that.

Your rear LCA bushings are probably shot.... just like mine :DDDD . I got the same thing happening and that's all it could be in my case. It may be the bolt also, when I pull my suspension apart to put my illuminas in, one of mine was loose, in turn making the LCA loose.

tighten up all your endlinks on your sway bars. i had a loud clunk and it was my rear sway bar endlink that came loose.

Ya I've had tons of trouble with my 4x114.3 swap from day one. The rears have been fugged from day 1 and the fronts have actually caused me no problems. Guess I'm tearing it all down tonight as I said already.
