Lots of Work done...Now Needles Don't Work??
OK, so we just finished doing a TON of work on my car
-Paint
-Axles
And much more
So as i drove it home, everything was great, but i stopped over the girls house to show her the new look hatch and i look and my tach is at 0rpm, and all of my other gauges are not working? The needles DID work when i started it up and drove there.
All backlighting works
No CELs
NO clock,BRAKE,CRUISE lights
We never pulled the dash so i dont think anything got screwed up there. We did disconnect the dome light and sunroof, but how that would affect anything is beyond me.
Is there something underneath the dash that would tie all of these functions together that i could have possibly tugged with my boots? No Fuses looked like they related to those. And i've never heard of a problem like this.
So HELP H-T!

I believe mine is under dash, but I'm also working on a 98 so I'm not positive... if thats not it.... definetly check your grounds. I know I had a problem like that and one of my grounds came loose and would only be grounding half the time.

make sure a plug in the back didnt fall out, or is connected securely. Lighting and guage motion are seperate operations between the two large plugs.

Two large plugs?
Honestly, i've never pulled my dash apart, so i would assume you mean that two plugs go into the back of the cluster.
Well i will have to try these two options.
Anymore help would be appreciated. Hopefully i can get to it tomorrow.
Thanks!

Re: (SlowPokeEg)
Check all those under dash fuses, the one that controls the clock/cluster/etc... lighting SHOULD be a 7.5A(red) fuse. I recently blew mine fooling with my autometer gauges and my turn signals stopped working as well as my clock/etc.

OK, ALL fuses were fine.
There is NO fuse for instrument panel operation, only lighting (which is not an issue).
So i'm assuming it's either one of the two large plugs you guys were talking about...or the ground.
So..new question. Would the instrument panel ground be behind the cluster? Or does the dashboard ground out together in one location?

Re: (SlowPokeEg)
From what I can remember there is a ground under the dash and it may be easier to access with your gauge cluster out. It pushes on to a spade terminal on the right side of the steering column support. the spade terminal is bolted to the support with a 10 mm. Hope this helps.

I checked EVERY fuse so im thinkin its not that.
Hopefully i can find that ground wire. Good thing you can take the cluster out without taking the whole dash off!
