Default Lots of Hondas in My Driveway...And Pics of My Bashed Front End!

Here's a nice Sunday at my house with a few friends over for swim:

What you don't see is my Mom's Del Sol in the garage too

And now here's pics of my newly rearranged front end courtesy of the Atlanta D.O.T and the *** who dropped off his bumper and left it on the freeway:

And how it looked for one good week until that crap on the freeway happened:

So what's the total damage?

Broken front bumper cover.
Both headlights broken where the corners screw in
Both amber corners demolished (replaced and zip-tied in on those pics)
Front lip torn off and ruined (Hard to see in that pic, but I had a brand new O.E Honda lip)
Both fendres pushed up slightly (Notice that pic of before how it lined up PERFECTLY?)
Both brand new Honda fender liners (I had just installed them 3 hours before the smashing)
All Konis BLOWN to hell.

So how did it happen?

I was cruising down I-85 here in Atlnat in midtown. This particular section has no overhead lighting at all, but it wouldn't have made any difference given the circumstances.

I was cruising with the flow of traffic at 80-85mph when a truck 2 lanes over (big truck) blew by a bumper laying on the freeway and it flew across 2 lanes and directly into my path.

*EDIT*

When I hit the bumper, the bumper also went under the car and the car ran over/jumped the bumper. I might also add that my brand new Tanabe Exhaust was pulled off of the rear section hangers and would have dragged the ground had the axle-back portion rested neatly on my right rear LCA.

The talley would have been about $600 more had the exhaust gotten ruined too.

It happened so quickly that I didn;t even have time to hit the brakes.

This just goes to show me that once again even if I am the most careful driver and I approach all inclines, declines, and curbs with car not to scrape my precious front lip or exhaust that it can all be SCREWED in no time at all and at no fault of my own at all.

Oh well, I called State Farm and my deductable is only $250.00 I have FULL coverage including theft, comprehensive, mediacl, etc. which I recommend to all of you who have nice hybrids out there.

Had I not been insured for this type of incident I would be out of pocket for over $1,000 in damages not including the blown struts which I still don't know will be covered or not.

If State Farm tries to bitch I have 35+pics and reciepts

Damn d00d

That makes me sick to my stomach.
I thought your ride kicked *** when you posted pics a week ago or so, I thought man that's what I want to do with my ride, but don't have the funds. (Your ride still kicks ***!)
I hope you get everything worked out with the Insurance Company. In my area State Farm is a bitch, how much do you pay every six months for full coverage?

(Can I come over for a swim, damn that one Honda party)
The board should start collecting donations if you don't get everything back!

[QUOTE]Here's a nice Sunday at my house with a few friends over for swim:

I like the lineup of cars! that blows about your car hitting a bumper and housing your front bumper.
hope everything works out

Well, not only did I hit the bumper, but the car actually ran over/jumped the bumper at 85mph so yes it did blow the struts out.

I'll go back and edit the original post as to explain that a little clearer

Oh no problem. I wasn't thinking you didn't beileve me, but I forgot to mention that key detail on how the struts got blown to hell.

...And you can look out for crap in the roadways all you want to, but my story is an example of just plain shitty luck that not even the most watchful eye could have prevented.

That's Georgia for ya. Sorry to hear that. At least your deductable wasn't that much. Is your Hybrid fully covered under insurance? Meaning engine and all?
