lost key
when i got my 96 civic it only came with one key, the previous owners had lost the other one. Now i have lost my one key. But i still have my red one. How long does it take for the dealer to get a new one & will it be excessively expensive?

just bring in some kind of documentation verifying that you actually own the car....... then they will need to look up the vin. and wha lha. But you will need to go the local Honda dealer.
- shouldnt be more that $10

yup just bring your registration in or something similar with the vin and go to the dealer, it costs about $5

I think your post confused a few people.
You state you had only one key to begin with - then you lost it - and not you have a red something??
If you have a key, get a duplicate: $2-3
If you dont have a key, bring your registration to a honda dealership and get a new key: $5-7

Re: (KnightX)
you know toyota has less key combinations than Honda right? Nissan is the worst I have a bunch a friends with 240's and they can open and start eachothers cars. One guy can run 3 diffrent cars with his key. Kinda weird.
