Default Losing power to radio

When I shut my car off, I lose power to my radio.

As in, when I get back in the car and turn it on all my presets have been erased and I have to enter the anti theft code.

Any ideas?

Completely stock 94 del sol

Newly installed radio or new problem with radio that has worked fine in the past?

Is the 7.5A hood Back Up fuse blown?

I just purchased the car don't know too much on it.

It had some shitty walmart head unit installed. I removed it and put an OEM unit from my other car in (worked perfect in my 97)

None of the wiring is hacked anything.

I'll check the fuse here on my lunch break.

You'll probably find the hood fuse blown.

Wasn't even a fuse in there.

Popped one in and everything works flawlessly!

Thank you very much.

My next problem is my horn not working.

Do the brake lights work?

If you run power and ground wires directly from the battery to the horn, does it sound?

Sounds like a dumb question, but is the horn itself even there? I looked at every fuse on my girlfriends car before thinking to look if it was even there.

Brake lights work.

Horn is installed.

I'll find some wires and try to manually sound it here in a few

Yeah could be an issue with the wires on the steering wheel then. If my memory serves me correct you have to take the air bag off the steering wheel to get to those wires, but they are connected in the column somewhere.

That probably has something to do with it then.

I removed the SRS unit, wiring and passenger airbag.

I wonder if it is tied into the SRS system?

Did you remove the driver's airbag and cable reel in the steering wheel?

It is not tied into the Srs system, the SRS system is on it's own system and is wrapped in yellow everything with yellow connectors. However if you took the driver's side bag out you may have damaged a wire or disconnected one on accident. I have a spare wheels and airbag at home I will take a look at when I leave work if you have not figured out the problem.

Reading comprehension. He did not ask specifically about the SRS system. The question was "Did you remove the driver's airbag and cable reel?"

If you are referring to me I am not the OP and was giving OP more info on the system and telling him that it is it's own system since he had asked if it was on same system. Thanks though.

OPs inquire about SRS system being tied into the power system for horn:

Negative.

Only removed srs unit, passenger air bag, and yellow wiring associated with it.

Drivers side air bag hasn't been touched aside from removing the yellow.
