I have a 96 civic dx with a B series engine. I realize the problem to my loose shifter is the bushings. Im going to get a set of ES stabilizer bushings but do I need the ones for a B or D series engine? I know my engine is B but would the shifter also be from a B?

#11 & #8 could b the problem. i had 8 break on me and the shifter and a lot of play up and down. got a new one from honda.. fixed it hopefully that helps

I would try to tighten things up first, if you're doing it yourself.

Yeah my play is from left to right. In and out of gear

I had to replace #8 on my shifter. Made a huge difference in left and right play.

I crawled under the car today to have a look and think I figured out the problem. Everything on the shifter is fine but the looseness is coming from the transmission side of the linkage. Ill post a video. When I move the linkage I can hear something inside the transmission moving also. And since this started, I have had trouble shifting into reverse, now I cant get into reverse at all.
