The air filter is in the box on top of the intake manifold. That engine bay is stock.
That's the SOHC non-VTEC (D16Y7 - CX, DX, DX-V, LX, SE, VP) engine bay. Here's another pic of one.
The SOHC VTEC (D16Y8 - EX) engine bay looks like this:
Here is a SOHC VTEC-E (HX) engine bay.
Here's a photo of the rare SOHC VTEC CNG (D16B5 - GX - Compressed Natural Gas) engine bay.
And the DOHC VTEC (Si) engine bay looks like this.

Mostly eBay Motors. I check every once in awhile to get photos of stock cars in particular since photos of stock cars are difficult to find compared to all the modified Hondas out there.
Some pics take me awhile to find. Mostly I have issues finding GX photos. So I save almost all GX photos as soon as I find them. I'd really like better engine bay shots for this one. It's just a really interesting model to me. Maybe one day I'll find one locally. It'd be cool to have such a limited car.

What's the diff in appearance between the GX and the HX - if you're looking at the engine bay?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Not sure off hand. Perhaps these photos will help someone else one day though.

at least not that i can see lol </TD></TR></TABLE>
They run on compressed natural gas.
The fuel filter is number 6, with 37 being the filter assembly. This is all the way to the right in the image.
