Looking at a high mileage civic
I'm looking at a 2000 Honda Civic SE coupe with auto trans. Has 273,000km on it but it's a car from down south so there's no rust on it. Started her up and she sounds pretty good, no unusual engine sounds. Didn't get to test drive her today because the road was closed due to contruction but on thursday when my sis is here we'll take her out (the car is for her). What exactly should I be looking for that may go wrong with this car? Also with the mileage would it need another timing belt?

yes timing belt def. good idea. make sure there is nuthin abnormal going on with the tranmission. make sure it downshifts on its own goin up a hill, without u letting off the gas. if u want to see if it was beat on, look under the gas pedal and see if there is a mark like shes been matted a few times
