Looking for a full build
Later on about September, I should have plenty of money saved up for a Honda Civic Del Sol. Right now I only own a motorcycle. Ok, so I was thinking, I would love to have a del sol with a motor swap using a 4g63 engine and put out around 400-500 whp. I would also like the car to be awd.
So perhaps a shell would be good, then swap and other parts needed bought and installed. I have no idea who could help me around here. I'm in Minnesota. No experience working on cars. I used to own a del sol back in the day.
How much would it be to get a project like that done? At the right time, I will have about 8-9 k to use. hopefully the project will be less, but thats that.

4G swap with AWD in a Honda chassis will easily cost double the price range you're currently looking at, especially if you aren't doing any of the fabrication work yourself.

You're gonna have a bad time. Just get an Evo if you want an AWD 4G63, either that or look into a turbo B Del Sol build while keeping FWD.

OP, are you aware of the quality difference between ANY Honda/Acura engine and a 4G63 engine ??? Funny that this is your first post... and ironic that you joined a Honda Forum to ask about a Mitsubishi engine.
Me thinks thou art a troll... oh, and welcome to the board.

And the 4G63 is still a pretty amazing engine. Cylinder heads don't flow on par with B/K/H/F engines, but as long as you don't get one of the older 4G engines with the dreaded crank walk problem, they're pretty solid.

Del sol shell 500-1000, used 4G63 engine and tranny 1500-1800, to have a shop fully build it 2000-3500 just for the block/ crank/ pistions etc, more if you want head work. Then labor for a custom install of a different brand engine you are looking at 3 to 4k in labor alone then cutom fabrication for AWD drivetrain could be thousands more. Then turbo setup, intercooler, custom piping, custom exhaust etc probably 5-6k easy in parts and labor. Then professional dyno tuning 300-700. Even for a shop with good rates you are looking at 15k bare minimum man, probably closer to 20 when you factor unknown issues.

Re: Looking for a full build
wow, 20 large for something like that. I'll probably go ahead and get something already built. I'm sure there would be a nice car out there for no more then 10g. Honestly, I'm looking for certain imports, most from 1990-1999. 300zx is in the running. MR2 in the running. Trying to brain storm what it is that I think I would like, or a way to get there.

Lol one post wonders, am I right?
Going through the trouble of swapping a 4g63 into a honda, instead of just buying an eclipse or easily building a honda engine to 500whp is one of the dumbest things I have read all week.
If you need a 4g63 and awd, just buy a gsx eclipse and be done with it....

Someone working at my local Lowe's has the cleanest first gen eagle talon I have ever seen. I am not sure if its fwd or awd, but it is definitely the turbo model and extremely stock. It gets me running major life decisions in my head every time I see it. It would be so low key/under the radar here (central florida is dominated by orlando fiebre civic **** boxes. no one would bat an eye at a clean dsm) and would make an awesome sleeper.

Re: Looking for a full build
nothing wrong with someone wanting to do something different. Thats always been my passion. When i first started getting into imports it was still the laughable times when 300hp was big numbers and we were happy when we beat a stock gt mustang or stayed fender to fender with a stock corvette. Being realistic in the budget is one thing, but shooting someone down just for doing something different isnt cool.
