Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help with remodeling my current exhaust system. I'm looking for a change primarily because I'm growing tired of all the noise...

Anyways, I have a single resonator cat-back exhaust system by MagnaFlow installed on my 1995 Civic EX sedan, and a stainless 4-2-1 Edelbrock header with no catalytic converter. It's not so bad for regular city driving (sound-wise) but gets a bit annoying on the highway. I don't really want to spend the money on an entire new system, especially since this one is only 4-5 years old, so I guess I'm just looking for muffler solutions at this point.

I was looking at some Vibrant mufflers with a 3" outlet (i have a 4" outlet with the MF muffler) but I'm not sure if I could use any since my current system uses 2.25" piping. I think I found one or two models that might work but is that going to be enough to reduce noise or do I need to move closer to the motor? I was looking at high-flow cats but I don't want to chop up my exhaust just to have one fabbed up.

So I'm not really sure where to go with this at the moment. I'd like to know what my best option(s) are or for reducing noise, but I'm not looking to completely silence my existing setup. Any input with this would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.
