Looking to Buy an EJ8 or EM1
Just looking for honest opinions on which i should do.
Let me tell you what I plan on doing and you can judge your opinions based on the following.
I will be doing a lot of appearance type things.
Looking to get decent power, with a turbo. It has to be California C.A.R.B legal tho so cant really do to much with fabricating a nice set-up.
Just seeing if i should buy the EM1 and turbo that, but also do internals and stuff like that.
OR
Buy an EJ8 and do a B series swap into it and turbo that plus internals.
Is there really an advantage to anyone? Besides a few grand...
Oh btw budget excluding car is like 10-15k or more depending.
Opinions please

I'ld personally do EJ8 and bswap (Thats what I'm doing). But if your mostly conserned with how it looks both are pretty much equal platforms (Si comes with Fr/Rr lips and mesh grill and thats pretty much it besides the DOHC label on the sides), however the EM1 is probably one of the most stolen cars in america so again I'ld stick to the EJ8.

Right, yeah as far as looks, i mean i will be adding the JDM touch to the car and will most likely end up looking like an EM1.

I would get the EJ8 due to the weight difference from the EM vs EJ8. Its lighter and isn't as over priced. Also SI's attract theives more than a regular EJ8. Kinda like Type-R's vs a regular DC2.

True, yeah i think i am just going to find a cheap EJ8 drop a B series in it and use the car as my project.
I can always just make the EJ8 look like an EM1 just with a different B series in it.

Yeah i figure i just might and rebuild the engine or swap it and re-coupe some of the money by sellin the b16. i just dont know.
First i need to sell the GSR and go from there.

Haha yes. Its going to be my first "project" of many. THis one will be a keeper.
I am going to spare no money in doing things right for the car i choose to build up. I would love to say I am going to do all the work myself, but i would be lying.
There are people out there who do better work like engine work and wiring. But as for the things i can do myself, by all means i will post pictures and updates when i start a build thread.
Now i need a car to work with
P.S. The 15k is just what i have now... there will be more come next Tax season

Re: (bilabong750)
Good Morning fellow HT members.
So I'm still not able to make a decision, First I cant even find a decent Ej8 worth buying in my area and EM1's people think there the freaking cure for cancer and cant see one for under 11k.
