Looking to buy a '92-'95 hatch. What should I look out for?
Like the title says what are common things I should look for?
Obviously rust, leaks, and wrecks, but are there any problems specific to those civics?
Also, and high milage ones will there be any issues with the chassis?

you'll be able to notice any real problems, just look under the hood closely and after you test drive or whatever, you should be able to tell if there's anything wrong. And alot of people will say not to buy a car that's already had a swap done because you can never tell how good/bad of a job the last person did.
If you're planning on swapping, get a CX preferrably, lightest total weight of all the models

rust around the rear fender wells is a major point check closely around the rear wheels cause if there is rust it is expensive and time consuming to repair.

well, one thing ive noticed is that these older civics will most likely have a rusty holy (haha?) exhaust systems. for example, my 92 civic i picked up very clean, no rust on the body, (arizona car) but a few months later, my muffler tip fell off, (rusted) then a few months after that, my entire piping fell off.(incredibly rusted) so look out for that, because you may have to replace that soon after you purchase the car.

Go after a rainy day and check out the passenger floorboard for sitting water. 2 of my buddies had this on their hatches ( a 92 and a 93 ), but my 94 si doesnt have that problem...

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah, one of the things I have check out is water in the car. Like broken seals around tail lights and stuff.
I don't really car about the exhaust, bucuase I'm going to turn it into a race car, so pretty much a need a straight, rust-free body.
Are there places, besides the rear fenders where rust could hide? Engine bay and such?
