Icon2 looking to buy a 92-95 Civic H/B, Help

so a noob to this thread and Hondas in general,
im a great mechanic!! never been to any tech school or anything like that, just crazy good, this Hondas seem pretty simple and cheap, at least coming from the diesel world. (my 01 F250 7.3l powerstroke with almost $20,000 in upgrades)

but I'm looking for a little gas saver project car, ive always liked the look of the 90s Honda civics, I'm really looking for a 92-95 Hatchback,

ive been reading a lot on this forum, learned a lot, learned about all the b16, b18, b20, h22, motors you can swap in and turbo kits and blah blah blah

but what should I look for when buy one? I wouldn't mind getting one (if I can find one doubt it tho) with a B18C with a turbo around 300hp
would it still be possible to get over 30mpg?

what would be the best setup for power and gas milage?
I'd say about 75% of the Hondas im finding have swaps in them,

where's a good place to buy a turbo kit or/and injectors?
how worse gas milage would a turbo make?

do you think that this is possible on a $4,000 budget? its fine if it goes over,

Welcome to Honda-Tech! So the only issue I see with your budget is that you haven't done your full research. the b18c is a great motor but can be a bit pricey. I personally wouldn't boost one without knowing what the internals look like.

-So for the B18C Gsr you're looking at anywhere from $1000-3000 for the motor and tranny

-Possible internal upgrade due to Turbo, Even though a good tune can increase the liability, its often not worth the risk 500-1500

-A shell can cost anywhere from $500-3000 depending on condition. For the lesser it can cost even more for repairs like rust , suspension, etc

-Turbo, if you plan to do this , do it right. Either piece a kit or buy a kit $1000-$3000 reliability is a big factor

-fluids, Failed parts, whoops you fucked up parts- this category is for the bolts you snap , the mounts you need, shift linkage etc etc, prepare to drop atleast 500-1000 in this.

4,000 can be done. but you may have to do some waiting on deals.

Good luck with your build
