Default Looking to buy a "Honda"

Ok, I'm coming from a musclecar background, BUT i want to see what all this import hype is about. Also not having to deal with 15-20MPG anymore would be nice.

I found a 93 Del Sol Si with 124K for 3K looks pretty damn mint.

I mean I've heard Hondas can run but 124K is getting up their. But maybe that's me just used to muscle cars. So does this sound like a decent deal?

I'm going to go check it out soon, anything specific to look out for on the 93 MY?

Thanks to anyone with input!

The usual, Body damage, rust, engine problems that can become major. Also offer 2K that price is kind of high.

as long as it has been properly driven, maintained, and has all the services done, it should be fine... Unlike muscle cars, honda's can last well up to 200k+...

if you want to get into the import scene, and your used to muscle cars, get the Del Sol VTEC. The Si is pretty slow, and for us honda people, heavy at about 2800lbs, where a 94 hatch will run like 2200lbs. And yeah, 128k for that car is just broken in. Take it to a shop, spend a grand on a full once over, and itll be good for another 90k miles easy.

dont for get engine swaps are 'easy' for hondas.

you have many options when getting a high milage honda.

1) ride it out, its a honda. (but you never know what the prev owner has done)
2) swap with a sohc, and if you want power going turbo is the way to go
3) swap a dohc B/H series, which can go either way, but tradition has been NA
4) Swap a doch K series, its the future/current new horizon. NA is more common that turbo at this stage.

This is over simplyfied of course.

And prices of del sols really can fluctuate were you live, if there are many or the weather is brutal its inexpensive, if there are few or have wonderful weather its $$$.

don't worry about the mileage on a honda anymodel that is..

but if your gonna modify it I suggest a swap

FYI: car's at 230,000 Km, running strong!
