Looking for advice on my 93 dx hatch
I just got my 93 civic dx about 2 months ago and this will be my first project (im 17). The car has been kept in immaculate condition by the previous owner, so there isnt anything major to fix before i start the work on it, i need a new arm on the hatch thats about it. Right now im wanting to swap out the original d15b7 (340k mi!!) preferably for a b16. I dont really want to do a mini-me, i would rather just go ahead and swap instead of doing it later. I would really appreciate any advice that you can give.

If it's really really clean then make sure you take good care of it. Too many EG's are in terrible shape now because they were neglected and a good one is hard to come by. He must have taken care of it if it has 340k miles on it. lol A swap would be nice, but I myself would seriously leave the D15B7 in it and just drive the hell out of the car. If it's in immaculate shape and has that many miles on it I couldn't bring myself to tear into a car that was so well taken care of. A swap would obviously be nice for power, but the gas mileage that the hatch gets with a D15 in it is awesome.

Re: Looking for advice on my 93 dx hatch
The main reason i want to swap out is because of the gas mileage, im only getting around 20mph which is no where near what i should, i have no clue why. But i do plan on taking that engine as far as i can before i do swap it. I dont plan on doing anything to the exterior besides some fresh paint and the interior looks like it just came off of the showroom floor.

You could tune your engine up, run some good fuel system cleaner and such, but I did on my 94 LX and I still don't get that great of mileage. Last time I checked, it was mid 20s. I have a B18C1 in a hatch now and it got like 32 last tank, with having some fun. I'm sure I could push it further, but that's not bad.
