looking at a 92 CX with D16Z6 swap....read this
the guy swapped it in himself....it has a few trans problems he described it as this
"The trans. is definately usable, I've been driving it just fine. It doesn't grid if you're nice to it. But it doesn't like to down shift into 2nd gear until the vehicle's speed drops down to about 15 mph or so. And fourth gear has trouble some times if it's rushed. On the shift from 3rd to 4th, it takes about one second before it will shift smoothly into gear. It's really not as bad as all that sounds though, you don't notice it once you've gotten the hang of it."
i don't plan on having that engine/trans in there for too much longer if i buy it...but i'm sure i'll have to drive on it for a while....So what does this sound like? Is it serious? If you know i'd appreciate some help thanks

Sounds like the problem I had with my old integra. In my case it was the syncros in the tranny. Same exact problems as you described.

well i bought it, and i found a hole in the crank case. But i have the engine and trans from the CX. Does anyone know if i could replace the crank case with the one from the CX? Or maybe just bolt on the CX tranny to the D16Z6 motor?

By "crank case", do you mean the transmission case? If so, you'd be better off to just swap in the CX tranny (D series blocks have the same trans bolt patterns, if i'm not mistaken). Your gears will be alot taller on the CX trans, but it should work.

I like the set up you're lookin' at, but the tranny is fuked up. Mine was like that for 3 weeks, then is seized in a way. No matter where I shifted, with or without clutch, I was stuck in 1st gear all the way home. Get a different tranny, 92/95 SOHC, from $50-$400.
A 1.5 tranny's good price is $50-$150
A 1.6 tranny's good price is $100-$250
But never pay more than $300, unless it's coming with a warranty/gurantee of some kind.

u could also transplant the gears from the z6 tranny into the case from the 1.5 ask mistabone about this he is the d-series tranny guru.
