Look INSIDE! What is this?
WTF is this?!?!
It came out of my 94 VX w/ a swapped obd-I B16A3. I looked it up at Majestic honda and all it said was that it was a "control device"... pretty vague... I looked to see what it was connected to and the vacuum lines weren't connected to anything but an electrical socket. The reason why I ask is because it was in the place that I plan to put my vacuum manifold and on my 95 ex it didn't have this little contraption... Removing this won't throw a CEL code or anything like that would it?

Item number 3 in the diagram is a black cover that goes over it so that might be why it doesn't look familiar... still stumped... hmmm...

yes it does look like an evap and map sensor for the obd 0. i had it on my crx. hope that helps that unit is located on the firewall next to the fuel filter. and the hoses connects to whatevers on the intake manifold n stuff..dont disconnect it your car will start idling funny and sh*t!

Re: Look INSIDE! What is this?
The car is OBD-I and my B16A3 is OBD-I I have looked to see where the vacuum hoses lead to and to no avail I can't see where it could possibly go to... my Charcoal cannister is all hooked up and none of the ports on the manifold are left unconnected... the weird thing (as stated in my original post) is that my 95 ex DOES NOT have this... maybe something specific w/ the 94 VX or all 5th gen. VX models?

Re: Look INSIDE! What is this?
Those are OBD1 evap control solenoids. They may also be the same ones used in OBD2, but I know for a fact they work with OBD1 cars.
I pulled these same solenoids out of my 95 Prelude years ago.

ok... so this is gonna' throw a code then right? The reason I ask is because I am in the middle of turbo charging the car w/ a S300(hence the vacuum manifold I'm running) and was wondering if this is gonna' throw a snag into my build... thoughts?
