!!! LOOK !!! Daily Driven B16 Supercharged Hatch Question.
I am about to swap a B 16a2 engine with a supercharger into my 98 hatch and I want to know if it is ok to use it as a daily driven car. I will probably be puttin about 100 miles a day. Do you think this will damage the engine. I will be running it at 5 Pounds. Or should I buy a hooptie to drive to work. Will keep you guys posted with pics. Swaping it on saturday. Open to honest opions and any feedback.
What mods do u think I should do to run good.
Also ive been thinkin of selling the Supercharger and goin turbo or
2-23-04 I am getting the b16 droped today. My macanic said I needed some other things for my supercharger. But he is getting them. Should be done by tomorrow night. I have a question how do I post pics on threads?
What time do You think my car should do with 5pounds on the J.R. Quartermile? Stock internals.

I should just slap you for making that comment.
A B16 engine is not the same engine that is in the WRX which is made for boost.
B16 with 5lbs supercharged should be fine as a daily driver just dont get too happy with it if u dont have it tuned correctly

As long is it's tuned it shouldn't be a problem. I know one guy with 50k+ miles on his JRSC'd Si coupe without any problems.

You should be OK...even with a un-tuned engine, you should be fine. Tests were performed with a stock B16 and the stock supercharger and it was driven back and forth from Westminster to the Bay Area and back and at various points, under full throttle for quite a bit...oh, you'll be fine, too, with pump-gas...don't worry about it...JC's "regular" SC units are built to take the abuse of everyday use...it's minimal boost, too...

Kind of a personal preference on the SC or turbo, but truthfully, I have an Si, and I'm planning on going turbo, won't drive it that much every day, but as long as you don't drive the **** out of it, you should be fine. Keep us posted on how the swap goes.

Re: !!! LOOK !!! Daily Driven B16 Supercharged Hatch Question. (DreK9)
The guy who helped me with my swap had a GSR swapped EG with a JRSC. He was running about 10psi, for about three years. He drove that car every day, to the track atleast twice a month, and beat the **** out of all of us. It finally dropped a cylinder after three years. You should be fine, just get the car tuned and keep the maintenance up. Good Luck.
