i did this one on an older car, and it's a major pain in the ***, it's going to be a major job to rebuild the floor pans and install new seat mount points.

How the hell tall are you? I'm 6ft and I have my seat where most 5'6" people put it. I sit very close and I've got tons of room to move back.
I sit straight up and very close. The only issues I have is my helmet hitting the headliner when I'm autocrossing. I roll my Recaro back a degree or two and problem solved.

Re: long legs need help
I'm about 6ft 5in using Del Sol seats which sit lower than normal seats but don't really think that has much effect on length. This is in a 00 ex coupe, have the seat as far back as it goes and is perfect comfortable. Can actually stretch my legs out, could probably move the seat closer a few notches and would still be fine. Unless you're taller 7ft, don't think you would really have any issues. Only problem I found is when wearing a helmet, it bumps the roof quite often.. So I actually have to lean the seat back, which isn't very comfortable because you loose most of your support.
