does it happen when you throttle too fast from a take off or when you launch? and if so, does it happen in reverse also?

i've heard noise like you describe on some girls prelude(99) when i worked at a honda dealership and it turned out to be the rack and pinion. may be same thing on yours.

have you checked ALL your front end bushings??...wheel bearings??...inner and outter tie rod ends??
one of my friends cars was doing something like this and he said turned out to be a loose brake pad due to a sized piston and was flopping and slapping when you hit the brakes hard made a clunk, weird tho .

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
my car did it with bad upper ball joints too, so i took my buddies A-arms form his teg and i swapped out my wornout top bushings and replaced it with his dropzone camber kit he gave me now my car creeks and clunks now too but that is because of the F**KIN horrible dropzone camber kit
adjustable skunk2 A-arms on the way

yeah......I had junk2 arms. They died in about a year.
I replaced with SPC arms, which have joints that are MUCH easier to replace. I am much, much, much happier
