Default Little tube that connects to a hose rotted and broke off. What are my options?

'98 Civic Lx.
My car lost coolant and overheated. The cause was a broken hose, when we went to change the hose, the connector tube(?) broke because of rot. We decided to plug up where the coolant was going to escape and fill up the radiator in order to reach home(7 minute drive). Any help is welcome.

Check a parts website to find the part # for the tube (look at diagrams for your car/engine), and either order a new one or go find one at a salvage yard.

That's what I'd do at least.

That part is still available new for ~ $25.00 from any Honda dealer.

Pipe, Breather
17135-P2A-000

When you replace it, you'll need to refill and bleed your coolant system.

That's not the one. I'm talking about the one that connects to it.

You talking about the one Teeing off of the pipe coming out of the head?

IIRC that one is attached to the intake manifold flange and is pressed in. Either a new manifold or see if somebody can remove and press or thread A new pipe into the orifice.

Exactly, thank you. I'm heading to a machine shop tomorrow to see if they can fix it. The intake manifold makes sense, I might buy a better condition one later.

or...you can just run a longer hose from the right side of the fuel rail to the thermostat housing. No need to buy another hard pipe.
