Icon2 a little help....new? evaporative emmissions question

hey guys. just got a 96 civic dx with a b16a2 swap on it, using a p2p ecu, 96 civic ex. bought it from a coworker. anyways im trying to pass inspection but i got 2 codes, well 1 now. i fixed the 02 sensor problem. now the only thing left is check engine code p0452 - fuel tank pressure sensor. i've searched and found that cx/dx dont have this sensor at all. but the ex ecu is looking for it. so wat can i do to fix this problem? can i hook up a resistor to the wire from the ecu of the tank sensor? do i hook up a sensor to the tank? i need this code cleared to pass inspection. this is the only thing holding me back. thanks for any info.

I'm pretty sure there is no way to get around an emissions code. You'll probably have to get a sensor installed.

The EX ECU will look for a tank pressure sensor, which as you mention, your car does not have.

I don't know how everyone gets past it, but with Eran's car ('97 CX with LS ECU) we replaced the entire tank with a '98 EX coupe fuel tank. We were lucky and happened to be parting an EX out, so we took the few things we could use before we got rid of the car.

I think he had heard of some other ways to fix it. I'll try to remember to ask him about it.

ok first of all, i know the p2p ecu is for soch vtech not for doch vtech...i have a jumper harness with a chipped p28 to make my b16 run a lot better....hello!!!!!!!!

if you do an inspection - emission - and plug the car up with a p28 the inspection machine is gonna say WTF!!! wrong ecu....p28 - OBD1....car is obd2 - hence i need an obd2 ecu to/or in order to pass inspection. but the ecu is freakin reading for a tank sensor...

ya'll know were im getting at... ya'll just trying to go in circles....

the title. is asking for help...thats all.. how creative do u have to be for some help???

yes all of ex/si civics have the pressure sensor...

what i want to know from honda-guys/wiring gurus is - can i put a resistor in the wire for the pressure sensor and fool it to be reading as if there was a sensor der?? instead of runnig wires to the tank and installing THE sensor??

The people on this board are extremely smart. Perhaps you've pissed them off? Wait around a bit and you will probably get the answer you are looking for.
