Little blue switch??
hi everyone , im new here and i dont know alot about cars but am willing to learn.
i just got a 92 honda civic si and theres a little blue switch next to the e-break . im curious to know what it is so could anyone help me out with this ? thanks also can anyone tell me where i have to look in the motor to see what type i have .

the switch is probably something the previous owner wired up. follow the wires and see where they go.
as for your motor, if it's a stock SOHC motor, it's a d16.

right underneath the upper radiator hose (on the block), is a little tab. on it is the engine code engraved. 92-95 civic si came with a SOHC VTEC motor (d16).

another question, if my motor is a VTEC why dosent it have the red "cover" like all the other VTEC's ive seen. ? i know this is probably a dumb question but whatever.
ill be back on here in a week since i already used up my trial posts. lol

the earlier SOHC VTEC motors didn't have the VTEC on the valve cover. i forgot what year when Honda started putting it on there.
the block will tell you exactly what you have.

By the look of all that wiring it seems that the extra switch is for the angel eye lights you have or maybe even fog lights. Hit the button and look at your car at night did anything change? FYI 95's have VTEC on the valve cover

your motor is the d16z6. it is the vtec motor that came in the 92-95 si's
as far as the switch goes... do like the other guys said, just follow the wires and see where they go

wow i give this guy props he knows jack **** about cars and he still knows how to spell vtec other than some of the other people on here lol
