listen to my lovely weekend for a swap
To begin this sad sad story I had to drive from West Palm Beach, FL to Pascagoula, MS. A good 10 hour trip to take my 98 HX home for a EX swap (tranny probs and a good deal for a swap). I make it home fine and I spend Saturday being lazy and visiting with family and friends.
So Sunday morning at 8:30 I am driving around running errands. !!OK STOP RIGHT THERE IN TIME!! Keep in mind that in 3 1/2 hours my car will be dropped off to my friend and I wont see my car till I come home for Xmas holidays. !!TIME BEGINS!! I am on Highway 90 coming into the turning lane and I notice an older F150 turning also. Now it has been a steady drizzle the whole day so I am in no rush at all so I let off the gas and touch the brakes. Of all the times my brakes act up they have to at this very moment. I feel the car start to hydroplane, so I let off the brakes and do everything in my power to save my baby. I hate slow motion events like this. I see my bumper and hood slide under the redneck truck and my worse fear has happened. After I pick my jaw off the ground I get up to see the damage. My C-West kit is in two pieces, the hood looks like a upside down V, headlights, fenders, and the whole front clip is damaged. My engine bay was pushed in a little but no obvious engine damage
Luckily their was no damage to the truck. I went under his bumper and he had a little bit of red paint left on his bumper that he scratched off of his rusty truck.
I just had her painted 3 months ago also. I know she will get fixed but I did most of the body work myself and it sucks to have so many man hours just taken away so quickly. Thank goodness for insurance.
I plan on ditching the kit, going back to stock bumper with either a cf lip/ hood or just a lip of some sort. Maybe some ctr headlights with a cf lip. I dont know I am just very pissed and I needed to vent a little bit.

Re: listen to my lovely weekend for a swap (blackhatchy)
has anyone had any experience with custom paint jobs/body kits and insurance adjusters. I didnt know how they would go about figuring out how much the kit and paint would cost when deciding how much i would get to fix everything???
