Shift linkage.

The pin is commonly referred to as the bitch pin.

Yeah no one told me about a bitch pin so I got a bar and hammer and tried beating it out before I noticed the bitch pin I engine swapped and now my gears shift like shift, could I have bent the linkage making the car shift like should or could it be improper clutch installation

Jack Up the car. Put it on jack stands. Go under and look while someone else shift through gear. See if something is snagged or caught..
Or
Go to the junkyard and find a spare shift linkage and swap it out..

Pretty brave to pull an engine with the link still attached. U may have bent it..
Get a helm service manual, that will be very beneficial to you in the long run.

Good luck

If you tried using a bolt instead of a roll pin when you reinstalled it, that's what the problem is.

You must use the proper roll pin.

Also, D and B series linkage is different shift linkage, so if you didn't use the appropriate shift linkage, that's also your problem.

That's not his problem.

He didn't remove the shift linkage before he attempted to pull the engine. He ultimately lifted the car off the jack stands pulling the engine with the linkages still attached. See his other thread:
