Default limp mode mystere

I have a 93 civic sedan with a D15XX auto. It's hard to get it started but after it runs fine with the exception of it won't go past 3500rpm but if you put pedal to floor it hits 3500 and if it go past it it bogs but let off and it pick back up so no hard acceleration. It sound like its in limp mode but here's what I've checked:first no codes at all display even no engine light. Fuses good and relays. correct ignition time and plug order and fire. Good fuel pressure and working fuel pressure regulator Intake and exhaust clean and free of obstructions including the cat. Good computer but borrow one out if my dd and still same issue but go to check codes and nothing displays but bulbs are getting power from ecu but I can't find any problems electrical including the harness. I'm stomped any ideals?

Doesn't sound like the CEL is working. Is the CEL bulb removed or blown?

if it is poppin off at 3500rpms , it must have a cel. The ecu will not activate the "early fuel cut"

in other words the ecu will not react by fuel cut off at 3.5k unless something is way wrong such as a sensor unplugged.

no need to jumper your diagnostic plug to check for codes because your cel obviously doesn't work. Need to hook it up to a scanner and see whats going on code wise...

This^ is possible for Honda OBD2, but NOT OBD1.

Check light was gone but replaced, codes 3, 4, 7. Replaced dizzy with good one and only code 4 remains even after resting the ECU and using my other good computer. all sensors are hooked up, no visible damage to wiring but still hits at 3500. is there something im overlooking?

Codes 3 and 7 have nothing to do with the distributor, so replacing it had nothing to do with those two codes disappearing.

Reset the ECU to clear codes to know whether code 4 (CKP sensor circuit) repeats. If so, short and open test the two CKP sensor wires and Ohm test the CKP sensor.

dizzy checked out (good one and original one) all in spec but upon further tracing the dizzy crank wire was removed from the plug and tucked in the harness with taped and a block off plug placed in its place. After cleaning up it was back running normal with full range on the tach. thanks guys for the help.
