Default Limited Slip Questions...

I tried the search and it came up with no results for my specific question (and I searched properly I hope ).

I am in the process of purchasing a B18C1 which apparently has LSD. My question is, is there a way to tell this is actually a LSD before I install it with a visual check?

Thanks guys
Andrew

Look through the differential hole where the axles stick into the tranny.

If you can look all the way through with nothing blocking your view, it HAS LSD.

If when you look through you see a pin or a "bar" sticking diagonally through the hole, then it is NOT an LSD.

You'll see the diff pin (or hopefully not) when the tranny is on or off the engine.

The only way you won't see it is if there are axles or inner joints attached in there.

I have a noob question while on the subject. I was wondering what kind of LSD comes on the stock S80 ITR trans? I thought there were different kinds and I was curious which one this trans has.

I have to admint it does look ALOT harder then it was.

Only time consuming and having to reassemble the main shaft 5 times due to not putting everything back like it was supposed to be. otherwise all ok!!!

well... 800$ Can. later...

Synchros for 1-2 3-4
A tube of Permatex Ultra-Grey
2 litres of Honda MTF

Thats all folks. Synchros are a bitch to buy here, next time i'll order them threw the US, even with exchange and duties and taxes, it'll be cheaper.

It's only time consuming. That's all.
