Lights dim when I tap the gas or accel, go bright again around 1500rpm then dim at idle
Lights dim when I tap the gas or accel, go bright again around 1500rpm then dim at idle, its kinda weird alternator tested ok but I havent ruled it out completely I don't think its a connection cause it does it sitting still and when driving put a new battery in it still does it any ideas before I go replacing the alternator maybe something to do with the ignition system? should I buy a voltage stabilizer?

seems like more than a few of us are having this problem I'm gonna order a voltage stabilizer any more ideas would be appreciated Im thinking voltage regulator one person in this thread said they cut the voltage regulator wire coming from the ecu and it fixed it anyone else agree with that?

Most likely the alternator not outputting at enough amperes or the battery not holding a good charge.
EDIT:
Usually dimming/brightening lights are a alternator issue.

Yeah, It sounds like Alt. Issue. When system gos under load your Alt. isn't able to keep up. I'd recommend replacing the altenator.

battery is brand new 725 (450cold cranking)amp battery I upgraded from the 51r to the 56h it fits but barely. I tested the alt and it still comes back good its a fairly new alt. The white wire coming to the back of the alt is the voltage regulator wire which is used to complete the circuit once a predetermined voltage is reached several have said that this is the cause of the problem. I am still debating on wether or not to disconnect this wire because my friend said the alternator can put out as high as 18volts which can damage electrical equipment here is a link if anyone else is having this problem I am gonna order a high output alternator and a voltage stabilizer if that doesnt fix it I am cutting the damn white wire

i had a sim prob, my tach and spedometer shuddered and all electronics shuddered in my car, it drove fine, so i figured replacing the battery but it was new, so i got the alt chked at autozone and it came as good, but i replaced the alt and fixed the problem, take the neg cable off ur car, if ur car hesitates or rpm loweres even alittle , that may mean ur alt works but its weak and needs replacement, ohh i had to replace the alt fuses and a couple more fuses

usually if lights are dimming when at a stop its either the alternator itself or could be just the voltage regulator. i have had this happen to me before.
does the battery light come on when the lights dim?
does the battery light come on when the lights dim?

believe it or not it happened to me... it ended up being the o2 sensor
lights would dim and ****, and in rain it would even buck untill about Xrpm and it went back to normal.
which led me to believe it was a short or something inside the o2s. replaced the thing and never had a problem again

Hunting down an electrical spike is not worth all the money in the world. Have a Honda dealer look at it! It's worth $70 to at least have someone narrow it down.

70$, dude dealer chges ur oil for 70$, the dealer will chge u out ur ***, probaly 100$ an hour

I had the same problem after installing my JL sub and amps. if you have an aftermarket sound system and havnt yet, put a power cap on it. if you dont, or already have...get a new alternator. stock should do the trick, but if you're like me and think that more is better, call up Ohio Generator, and order one from them.
